About the event
Join Forrest Inslee and James Amadon for a conversation with Dr. Debra Rienstra, author of the recent book Refugia Faith. We will talk with Dr. Rienstra about creating “refugia,” places of shelter where life endures in times of crisis. We will explore how this biological reality can extend to human culture and faith, helping us create communities of refugia that endure, expand, and connect in ways that help new forms of life emerge.
Debra Rienstra is professor of English at Calvin University in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She has taught literature and writing there since 1996. Her other books include Great with Child: On Becoming a Mother, So Much More: An Invitation to Christian Spirituality, and Worship Words: Discipling Language for Faithful Ministry.
